About Berenice Base

Hi my name is Berenice Base. Some of my favorite things to do are to play sports and to play with my siblings and cousins. The schools that I used to attend before coming to Oakland High are Garfield Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School then I came here. When I grow up I want to become a Dentist Hygienist or I would like to work in the medical field. I haven't volunteer any where yet but I would like to volunteer in a hospital or something like that.

Well first of all, i went to Franklin elementary then was promoted and attended Roosevelt middle school, now i am in the 11th and i going to school at Oakland high school. i have worked at my fathers restaurant as the cashier, i have also done community service work like fundraising. what i wanna be when i grow up? well i dont know yet, but i get the feeling for maybe being an architect. my favorite thing to do is to be at home sleeping and listening to my music.

About Lan Expression

Hello there. My name is Lan Expression. The schools I've attended are Manzanita Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School, and i'm currently a Junior at Oakland High School! Go Wildcats!. I don't think I did that much community services besides some campus clean ups and some cleaning up in our Environmental Academy and I know I should be starting to do more community services to earn my hours. Right now, I'm having an image of becoming a CEO when i grow up because CEO gets to wear suits almost everyday and makes a lot of money. My alternative to becoming a CEO is being some kind of engineer because I realized that I love the feeling of successfully fixing something such as electronics or things.... yeah. The things I like to do are listening to Korean music, even though i have no idea what they're saying, they're still very addictive.And most importantly, I LOVE to play video games and computer games such as (Runescape & Neopets). I lied, even though I love playing games, I don't think I'll have time to play them anymore because works are stacking everyday.

About Esther Infinity

Well hello there ! My name is Esther Infinity. The schools I have attended consist of Fruitvale Elementary School, Sobrante Park Elementary School, James Madison Middle School, Roosevelt Middle School, & this is my 3rd year at Oakland High School. I've never had a job, however, I've done just a bit of community service including Campus Clean Up and Link Crew. In the future, I hope to become either a business woman or an orthodontist. My favorite things to do would definitely be listening to music & learning new languages. After picking up a habit of procrastination, I also learned to appreciate sleep.

About Thanh Quotient

My Name is Thanh Quotient and The schools I have attended are Bella vista Elementary school, Roosevelt Middle School, and now Oakland High school and i have been here for 3 years (class of 2013). I have never had a job; however, i have done over 150 community service hours and most of them were informing our community members about schools and educations. I'm not exactly sure about what I want to be when I grow up, but I have the idea of being something that has to do with math or medical fields, like a psychologist, or something that mainly benefits the patient rather than myself financially. The things I like to do when I have extra time is enjoy the sunlight and fresh air, just to take a break from technology and other people.

About John Variable

My name is John Variable and I am currently a Junior at Oakland High. I went to Jefferson and Franklin for elementary school, Roosevelt for middle school, and Oakland High for high school. I did one volunteer / class help at this place with a group of people and we could choose what we wanted to do. I worked as cleaning the dishes which was really fun with this high powered water cleaner. It was better than drying the dishes, soaping them, or bringing / making food and drinks for the people. I am also helping my Aunt at a bakery shop in San Jose most Saturdays. Just simple things like moving cakes, doing flower things, making a cake box and those things. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but mechanics seems like a nice thing to do. There are a lot of choices to choose from. At home, I like to play video games, chat with people, and sleeping. My favorite anime is Detective Conan which is still currently airing passed over 600 episodes and it's really interesting to me.

About Suki Matrix

My name is Suki Matrix, I am a 11th grader in Oakland High School. I have attended Lincoln Elementary School and West Lake Middle School. I have help my cousin to take care her baby for a while and I get paid for that so I consider that is a job. I want to be a lot of things when I grow up so I didn't decide on one thing that I'm certainly wanted to do on my future life or I'm just confused on what I really want. My biggest hobby when I'm free is Sleep or Eat, because that is the most important thing to me. I will say that eating is my second choice because I am more in to sleeping than eating except when it is something spicy or really really spicy!

Hey! My name is Cody Hexagon. Schools i have attended are Franklin Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and now i'm in the 11th grade representing the juniors in Oakland High School. I do not have a job yet, but i had volunteered babysitting, teaching/tutoring little kids, and doing community services. In the future, i hope i can become a doctor; a family & general practitioner. I volunteered at the Oakland main library this summer but I haven't had any official paying job. This assignment was related to Chapter 2 of our Trig. textbook-Functions and Relations. We have already learned how to plot number-line graphs of equations with one variable. Now, things get more challenging......we are going to work with equations containing TWO variables!!!

A graph is a function if for every x value, there is exactly one unique value of y. A relation is just the opposite. It has two y-values for every x-value. The independent variable is x, and the dependent variable is y. The domain of a function is the set of values of the independent variable, and the range is the set of values of the dependent variable. In this chapter, I learned to sketch a reasonable graph when given a real-world situation in which one variable depends on the value of the other.

We worked in pairs, and me and my partner Ivan decided to use computers as our real-world example. Every time we hit a single letter on the keyboard, that same single letter appears on the computer screen. We then repeat this experiment multiple times and find that it is true for each trial. This situation is known as a FUNCTION. But suppose our computer gets a little "weird" and when we hit the same letter more than once, a different letter appears on the screen. In this case, there are two possible outcomes for each letter that we type. Therefore, this would be called a RELATION. Our detailed work is shown below. Enjoy!
